Welcome to my Writing Blog

This blog has been created not only to document my Journey of publishing my novels but also to be a place to help guide other Authors. Let’s face it, actually completing and publishing a book can be a very daunting task. However, it doesn’t have to feel like it.
I am what I like to call a multi-genre fiction Author. Due to the inability to restrict myself to one genre and enjoying the challenges each one brings. Ever since I could write full sentences I’ve been jotting down story ideas, fiction, short stories, and poems. Obviously most of the early stuff will never be a best seller or anything but it is fun to reflect on my childhood stories of purple aliens lol. It has always been a passion of mine, if I’m not writing, I’m thinking or dreaming about it. FYI not every story idea you write in your bedside notebook at 4am and half asleep, will really be a good idea lol.
My first published novel ‘Languish’ Book 1 of the Live Series, is a Thriller, complete with victims, a serial killer, and a little romance thrown in the mix. This is actually the second novel I’ve written but the only one I have published so far. My first one was not quite where I wanted it yet, so I put it on a back burner for now and it will be published later on down the road. If you read any of my much older posts then you will find that I planned on Traditionally publishing. Those plans changed leading to me self-publishing on Amazon and being very content with that decision.
In my life I’ve done a lot of research to try and perfect my writing. When I say perfect I use it as a loose term because step 1 is realizing that your novel may never seem perfect to you but it can seem like it to your readers. You will always be your own worst critic, which can be good and bad. On one hand you’re “perfecting” your novel to the point where your future editor will love you, on the other, you can take it so far that you don’t know when to stop editing and you become stuck in a continuous loop. Not to mention, each person is unique in their own ways. Which also means that each persons version of perfect is different. So what can be perfect to one person may not be to another.
Now, I’m not claiming to be an expert or anything like that. But I can share my knowledge and learning experiences with you. That knowledge includes my journey to self-publishing my novel and working on future projects/my learning experiences with marketing . As human beings we are really never done learning. With every story idea comes new research and dedication to complete. No two novels are exactly alike even if they are of the same series. So I hope to share with you my insights into writing and have some fun along the way.
